Debinding and sintering problems and solutions of MIM components

Problems of defects, distortions, and inconsistent dimensions, which are mainly attributed to the large amount of dimensional change of the MIM components throughout the process, have become important issues in the MIM industry. Debinding and sintering related topics, such as swelling, blistering, or cracking during debinding and distortion during sintering, particularly when liquid phase sintering is involved, will be addressed. Through the fundamental understanding of the debinding and sintering mechanisms, logic solutions will be provided and discussed with examples.
