Overall Equipment Effectiveness or OEE is basically the ratio of fully productive time versus planned
production time. In practice OEE is calculated as the product of the following three contributing factors:
• Availability
• Performance
• Quality
This paper contains important information on where and how to improve overall equipment effectiveness. OEE Overall Equipment Effectiveness is a very important instrument to evaluate the equipment efficiency and especially to evaluate where the biggest loss of OEE occurs. If those factors and influences are understood, it is possible to work systematically against the losses of OEE.
